Neighbors Helping Neighbors
There are many neighbors volunteering to help others that may need assistance in grocery shopping, medicines, pet care, or similar tasks. Staying at home, keeping safe, and limiting exposure, creates a hardship form many. Please register if you may need help or assistance. Register if you can provide assistance.
Like communities around the world, our neighborhood is showing appreciation for medical, first responders, and other essential service workers. At 7pm Sundays, many neighbors saluting these workers by making sounds with instruments and pots and pans. We gather in front of our homes and make some joyful noise!
In the same vein, neighbors are also paying tribute and support by displaying blue tribute ribbons on their fences and trees (see inMenlo article).
We plan on featuring various local businesses in hopes of supporting them during this critical time. The first is Luttickens. Lutickens is open and serving takeout from both the Deli menu and After 5 menu. Call 650-854-0291. Lutickens supports pre-order and pickup and other delivery options via Waiter.com, DoorDash, and Gruphub delivery options.
Most of you know that Lutickens is a great deli. Some of you may not know that Lutickens has a broad menu, including a special 'After 5' menu. Bob Lutticken has been serving our community now for 40 years; in fact some of the 'kids' he served decades ago afters chool from Las Lomitas, La Entrada, Hillview, and other schools now have a new generation of kids of their own, and in some cases grandkids.
Bob has kept his employees on payroll and has implemented a strict regiment of safety and frequent sanitizing. Luttickens, especially during this critical time, could use our support and we could enjoy some locally made delicious entrées.
Now is the time to help our local community and support business like Luttickens. Order dinner, or lunch, or a bunch of appetizers and enjoy the good food and the associated reward of helping others.
