Stanford GUP: Mar 14 - Palo Alto City Council 6:30pm

Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian invites you to attend his Town Hall about the Stanford University General Use Permit Application on Thursday, March 14th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in Palo Alto City Council Chambers (250 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto).

The event is co-hosted by the Palo Alto Weekly and will provide an update on where we are in the review process, including a high-level overview of the staff-proposed conditions of approval. After brief welcoming and introductory comments, the staff of the Palo Alto Weekly will interview Supervisor Simitian and then turn to the audience for questions they have for the Supervisor. We hope this format will ensure we get to the information of most interest to the public.

Additional Notes from Peter Drekmeier:

Just a reminder that Supervisor Simitian’s town hall meeting on the Stanford GUP will be tomorrow (Thursday) evening from 6:30-8:00pm at Palo Alto City Hall, 250 Hamilton Ave. —
A good showing will demonstrate strong support for full mitigation of the impacts that will come with Stanford’s development plan.  You can read my OpEd from last fall at
Also, just prior to the town hall, the Palo Alto PTA Council will host a rally at 5:30pm in King Plaza in front of City Hall.  Here’s a message from the organizers.
In its GUP application, Stanford proposes to add hundreds of new students to the Palo Alto public schools, but provides inadequate funds to educate them. Join me in supporting Palo Alto public schools at the Palo Alto PTA Council “Stanford Share the Costs” rally. Get the Facts!
